How to apply for PTPTN?

PTPTN is a loan system for students.

Here are some step-by-step instructions.

  1. Make sure you are qualified. You have to have been offered a place at IPT prior to application.
    You should also have an individual savings account as determined by the IPT.

  1. Open a CIMB Personal Savings Account at CIMB Bank.
  2. Open Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN).
  3. Buy a PIN number for RM5 at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN).
  4. Open http://www.ptptn.gov.my/gateway/ and apply.
  5. Check your application status after 7 working days of the online application closing date.
  6. Submit the supporting documents to the PTPTN officer of your College/ University

PTPTN (Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional)

  • PTPTN can be apply by Diploma, Degree, Master Degree students but NOT Pre - Universities students such as Foundation, A-level and SAM.
  • Diploma students can get RM 8,000 per year.
  • Degree students can get RM 16,000 per year except for Degree in Traditional Medicine and Physiotheraphy students (Science) can get RM20,000 per year.
  • Students must maintain CGPA of 2.0 to get PTPTN.
  • Loan Pay Back will be getting discount of 20% if the loan is being pay back all at once.

** To convert PTPTN to scholarship, students required to get CGPA at least 3.5. **
