Hey! i got 9A’s in spm 2015. i’m confused to be a doctor or an accountant. Is it true to be a doctor is really hard and to be an accountant are much easier? I have received an offer the foundation in accounting at UNITEN. I should accept that or not?
HI! I had the same issues too. It actually depends on your passion. Don’t think about it’s really hard to be a doctor and all… To be honest every occupation is hard and depends on your hard work. I was told that it is easier to earn being an accountant and it’s really hard to be a doctor but I realise that my passion and dream is to be a doctor. So what exactly are you into? Medicine or accounting? Do what you like and feel good about.

Thank you, dear. I will think deeply about it. Actually, what make you feel so confident to be a doctor? Because people around me said that be a doctor mean you can’t upbringing your children with your own way and your time will be more in the hospital and not home! But be a accountant are much suitable to women.
That is exactly what I was told! They said that I will be working late hours and the on-call duties so I won’t even have time of my own but I realise that medicine is what I want to learn. I am interested in knowing about the human body and have dreams of becoming a successful gynaecologist and obstetrician. I might have the time with family while earning good becoming an accountant but when I ask myself if I would be happy doing that and the answer was no. I might have the time and money but I wouldn’t be happy with the job I am doing because it’s not my passion. And I am ready to face anything to achieve my dreams.

I would like to add that another important aspect to consider is your own personality: do you prefer dealing with people or number? A doctor will need to interact with people (patients, nurses, other medical staffs etc) many hours a day while an accountant will need to deal with numbers (precise number on PO, invoice, interest, revenue, expenditure, payroll) many hours a day.
It could be quite intimidating say a person hates to meet people or talk to people becomes a doctor and doesn’t enjoy the part of dealing with people. Same for an accountant that hates number. So please take this into your consideration as well when you are deciding which is more suitable for you.
