I love Mathematics and programming but I hate the theory parts that need to be memorized. Am I more suitable for Actuarial Science or Cyber security?
Actuarial science & cyber security are completely different courses.
If you love Mathematics, you will do well in actuarial science.
Cyber security has very little to do with programming. While your interest in programming might help a little, cyber security has more to do with networking (server security, firewall, network ports, routing tables etc), data protection, computer hacking etc.
In terms of theory, cyber security has more established theories that you need to get familiar with (not necessary memorizing as nowadays everything is just a Google search away) and the field is evolving at a fast pace, meaning you need to be constantly keep yourself updated with the latest trends and technologies in the field.
Thanks for your advice! But is there any subject is more towards programming?
There are some subjects that uses programming.
Im a bachelor of computer science @ UMP, Pahang. For the first semester, we have Programming techniques and it has 2 more subjects that will follow up which is Data Structure & Algorithms and the last one is Object Oriented Programming. It basically uses C language, C++ and not other language than C. It is quite easy if you’re into it. You will have hands on test and mini project for every semester. And the mini project must cover all the chapters that you already learned in the semester.
That is for me, a student major in networking of course. I’m not sure about the other major which is software engineering and graphics. I think that they have more subjects on programming.
