Hong Leong Foundation Scholarship Programme – Undergraduate

Hong Leong Foundation Scholarship Programme – Undergraduate Scholarship Programme

The scholarship is awarded for ANY course or field of study. The catch is that it has to be a full-time Undergraduate Studies (1st degree course) or Diploma Course at recognised public and private universities and colleges in Malaysia. Those currently pursuing STPM, A-Levels, Matriculation, Foundation, Pre-U, and equivalent courses are not eligible. Be patient, wait until you complete those pre-university courses.

These are the minimum requirements.

SPM : Minimum 8As
UEC : Minimum 6As
STPM / Matriculation / A-Level / Foundation / Diploma / Degree : Minimum CGPA of 3.5

Remember, this scholarship does not cover overseas programmes. Malaysia only!
Note, if you have OKU status i.e. have a physical disability and/or impairment, it is perfectly fine! In fact, they encourage these people, and those with financial problems, to apply.

To those who have yet to receive an offer letter from a university or college, this is what you can do. You may apply first and any offer of scholarship to you by Hong Leong Foundation prior to receiving your official offer letter from your university/college will be regarded as “provisional offer”. You may send the official university/college offer letter to them prior to the interview, or bring along on the interview day itself. Application should be based on your first choice of course/field of study and institution applied to.

It is very important to remember the deadline, as with all scholarships.
The scholarship is only offered once a year, that is, a short duration of time after the announcement of STPM and SPM results, so remember to check the internet or the newspaper for latest information.
There is no bond to this scholarship.

Here are some easy steps for the application.

  1. Submit the application form after you fill it out with the accurate details.
  2. Wait for the results of the shortlist. Only short-listed candidates will be notified, thus if you do not receive any news by June, consider your application unsuccessful.
  3. If you are short-listed, attend an interview.
  4. Accept the scholarship.
