Opinion on which course (actuarial science or TESL) should I take please?

I have 2 option to further my study either to take actuarial science or TESL but everyone keep telling me that actuarial science is hard and i should take TESL since i always get an A in english .But , i really like math since its a subject tht actually value intelligence instead of memory. Please help me :frowning:

i had the same problem last few months in the way i was torn apart between 2 courses (act science and pharmacy haha) but i finally came to a conclusion that nothing is easy and nothing is impossible, i mean act. science is def hard based on what iโ€™ve heard and googled, but at the end, it will be worth it bc 1) it has high demand in companies etc 2) it has a high salary
if you loooove maths and enjoy applying maths & somewhat โ€˜HOTSโ€™ types of question, if you donโ€™t mind the hardwork you need to put in for actuarial science and you know you can handle actuarial science, go for it.
but if its vice versa, go for something you know you can strive in which is TESL.

Since @nrlafiqah has shared a lot on the benefits of actuary, I would like to add that TESL is a good choice if you like teaching students English. I knew quite a number of people traveling and working in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia etc teaching TESL to local students and earning about USD$16/hour. So it can be good pay also.

The difference between actuarial science and TESL is actuarial science is dealing mostly with mathematics (non-human) while TESL is dealing with students (human). So are you a social person that like to meet students face-to-face or you prefer to do maths alone facing computer / calculator etc? This is an important aspect to consider as it is your career that you will spend many years of your life doing it.

At the end of the day, after listening to so many others offering their personal advices to you, you need to listen to your own inner voice and follow your heart.
