What is community college?

They’re a form of higher education in the US. They’re typically non-selective and inexpensive. They rarely offer bachelor’s degrees, but they have associates (2-year) degrees which are designed to transfer to 4-year colleges. Some of the associate’s degrees stand on their own as a worthwhile credential. They also can offer certificates, which are specialized programs that take less than 2 years. MARA sponsored students basically attend community colleges before transferring to a university.
