Many secondary students in Malaysia have resorted to a generic choice for careers. Accountancy, Business, Medicine and Engineering remains the most top-picked careers in Malaysia, and further cemented the myth that this majors can be anything but a failure. However, social science could prove an alternative to those generic choices, and could be successful too. After all, not everyone wants to be a doctor or an engineer.Social sciences is the study of human society and social relationships and the causes and modifications of behaviour attributed to individual differences, experience and environment. The field is multidisciplinary and covers the understanding of human development, behaviour and interaction. Knowledge in this field help in solving and understanding many of the world’s most pressing social problems and human conditions that can be examined politically, economically, culturally, historically, socially and psychologically. The most well-known majors of social science is Psychology and Political Science.
Additionally, other types of majors can be found under the field of social science. Others would include Writing, International Studies, Gender Studies and Journalism.
